About the Print
Dancer boy
In Indian Classical dance it is normal for male dancers to wear make up and to express themselves in a feminine manner. It is called "Lasya", the feminine quality in dance. Dancer boys come on stage ready to take on any form, male or female, whatever tells the story. This practice is an opportunity that allows them to understand the two qualities "lasya" feminine and "tandava" the masculine. Good to know no!? Be open. Boys can dress up too!
